Jamie So Wing-Yan

Jamie's story is pretty typical of a lot of the new inhabitants of East Hastings.  Born first-generation American to a deadbeat father she never quite knew and a stripper, both from Hong Kong, Jamie spent her formative years under the care of her doting mother in their small apartment as they struggled to get by.

Things wouldn't always be so simple, though.  Time went on, Jamie got older.  A rebellious nature was born.  By the time Jamie was in ninth grade, she was regularly involved in street fights with rivals, particularly other girl gangs- she was in one herself.  Life as a delinquent didn't lend itself to school so well, and she stopped going altogether by her sophomore year.  That's when Jamie's mother gave up and kicked her out.

Luckily, she didn't actually spend a whole lot of time back at her old house anyway.  She had plenty of friends, locals, people who had a decent couch she could crash on for the night- worst comes to worst, she'd head to one of the homeless shelters, if it wasn't full.  She never stopped her life of drinking, partying, sex, drugs- things only seemed to be getting worse.

That's when she got into porn.  Having met a Triad-affiliated scout at a party by the time she was eighteen, Jamie signed up as an actress in a couple of local productions.  She didn't see it as so much of an issue- it was easy money compared to the usual begging and fighting she'd usually do to scrape by.  By the time the first couple paychecks rolled around, she could even afford a place of her own.

A break-in later, she saved up enough to buy a gun.

Life was alright, now.  She had settled down a little- she'd work here and there, pay the bills, and then waste the rest on cigarettes, alcohol, fast food, clothes, and everything else she wanted.  For once in her life, Jamie was getting by steadily.

Essentially all I'm applying for:
A shitty pistol with some ammo and maybe a bit of starting capital and/or a steady, albeit minimal income.

Yeah, she's a porn star.  No, this character isn't meant for pure ERP reasons.  It's just how she makes her money, because she has no other skills, she dropped out of high school, and it's the best source of income available to her.  The sex industry is something that's really under-represented in roleplay I think because a lot of people are scared or probably just not interested in playing someone like this.  I don't plan to actually roleplay the porn shoots, that's supposed to be an implied thing.  Whatever else she does is completely unrelated, because that's how actual porn stars live, I'd imagine.
